in our Textiles unit we had to make anything 2D textile related..I was playing around with these little felt crows..I loved just doing anything to them..beading..fabric etc..they are all hand stitched...then what to do with them I ask...so I came up with the idea of the canvas..the pie is also handstitched and made from felt..the netting going up the middle of the crows (black birds) is meant to be steam from the pie...as I didnt want to make all the blackbirds in the rhyme..u will notice the wooden numbers on the side of the pie...and yes the tree is handstitched as well....hope u like it and thanks for looking
